AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION
The All About Love, Inc. was developed primarily for women’s empowerment and their children, but available to all ages & genders. Our services include psychological evaluations, testing, anger management, counseling, workshops, lectures, diet counseling as it relates to emotional disorders, troubled teens outreach and classes. Our organized interventions in the areas of anger management, conflict resolution, domestic violence issues, verbal abuse, life skills, coping skills, gender issues, emotional abuse, anti-violence, sexuality, grief & loss, substance abuse, mood disorders, depression, self-esteem, stress management, social skills, communication skills, relationship issues, problem solving, diet, phobias, trauma issues, enhancing personal growth, individual & group counseling, and crisis intervention.
Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, Relationship Issues and Women’s issues are my specialty. I follow the work of the theorists who study the psychosocial development of women. Examples of presenting problems are eating disorder, pre- and post-divorce issues, incest, depression, post traumatic stress reactions, and sexual harassment. I work with victims of abuse and adult children of dysfunctional families. In addition, I counsel professional women who are having difficulty dealing with positions of increased power, are considering a career change, or are suffering from performance or leadership problems.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY AND METHODOLOGY
I use solution therapy and a holistic psychosocial, development systems approach in working with most clients. An Assessment is made of each individual’s self-development and ego strengths, and then a treatment plan is developed based on the DSM-IV multi-axial diagnosis. I promote insight-orientated cognitive restructuring and use strategic behavioral interventions to create change. An extensive history is taken to determine historical and current events affecting the situation and assure a current physical has been taken to rule out organic causes. If there is an organic condition, I work with the physician to create a treatment plan to support medical treatment. When working with couples or families, I provide psycho education on how to build and
maintain healthy family systems. Communication and conflict resolution skills are also modeled and trained. When working with children, who are able to articulate their feelings and thoughts, I use play therapy and sand-tray. While clients are in treatment, I help them create a support system for themselves and educate them about community resources they might access.
